Vineyard Fest 2017 at Chateau Elan Winery & Resort


Where are my wine lovers? For any wine connoisseur, enthusiast, and sipper this is a event you can’t miss!

The Vineyard Fest is held at the award winning Chateau Elan Winery & Resort in Braselton, GA.  There was over 100 wines to taste, a variety of spirits, cooking demonstrations, small bites, live music, and grape stomping.

This was my first time attending Vineyard Fest and what I have seen from previous years I knew I was in for a great experience. My sister and I arrived at the venue 30 minutes before start time and there was already a long line forming. Luckily, the staff were quick and thorough to get everyone checked-in (Note: There are two check in locations – main entrance in the front and lower level in the back).  Once checked in you received your Chateau Elan tasting glass and guide book. Let the fun begin!

On the main level we were immediately greeted with a beautiful Artesian Cheese & Bread display, Mini Chicken Verde Tamales, Mini Sopes with Pulled Pork, and Buttered Elote Corn Bites.

Some of my favorite drink tastings included:

  • Farmhouse Peachshine, Still Pond Vineyard
    (A Blend of Farmhouse Peach Wine and Muscadine Moonshine)
  • Chimney Red, Cartecay Vineyard
    (Off Dry, Medium Bodied Wine with a Distinctive Floral Nose and Ruby Red Color)
  • Hand Crafted Vodka, Old Forth Distillery
    ( Old Fourth uses Sugarcane)
  • Scarlet Reserve, Chateau Elan 
    (Medium-bodied red with notes of buttery nut brittle, dark chocolate, creme brulee, and berry jam on toast greets the nose)

After getting a few more bites in we made it downstairs to the Cast Room. There was a display of desserts – Cheese Cake Cones, Mini Panna Cotta, and Chocolate Covered Cheese Lollypops.

The tastings here featured a lot of local spirits from Gin to Whiskey. The most unique spirit was the Taza Ray Sunflower , the first Sunflower Seed Spirit and it is gluten free.

We finished the Vineyard Fest with grape stomping. We headed outside to the vineyard to get a true experience of traditional wine making.  There were a few stations set up with barrels filled with grapes. When it got to my turn, I jumped in barefooted and got to stomping.

Overall, I had a amazing experience. The food was delicious, I was able try a variety of local wines and spirits, and made new friends. It was the perfect girls day out. I am counting down to Vineyard Fest 2018!
